Children's 2026 Winter Reading Challenge

Hey kids! Welcome to our 2026 Children's Winter Reading Challenge! Read up to 300 minutes during January and February to earn up to 3 tickets. You will earn 1 raffle ticket for each 100 minutes you read (up to 3 tickets total). Enter raffle tickets online for a chance to win gift cards! All reading and raffle tickets must be entered by February 28 at midnight. Participants will receive a new book of their choice and prizes, starting on March 3. Raffle winners will be notified starting Tuesday, March 4. Let's get reading and have fun!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant and toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books before your child starts kindergarten. Yes, you can repeat books. Does it sound hard? Not really, if you think about it. If you read just 3 books a night, you will have read more than 1000 books in a year.

Sign up at the Children's Desk for this exciting program and receive a free book bag donated by LUSO Federal Credit Union as well as prizes for each 100 books you have read!

Mass Center for the Book Student Reading Challenge
June 2025 - May 2026

How It Works:
1.Students and families can choose a book that fits the monthly
challenge. Check out our catalog for recommendations!
2. Head into a partner location for a sticker. Collect stickers to win
prizes!
3.Each month, a parent/guardian can fill out a short form to tell us
about the book. The submission form can be found at on the Mass Center for the Book Student Reading Challenge website.
4.Mass Center for the Book will run drawings for prizes. Monthly
participation determines eligibility.
